Chiaha Harvest Fair
Chiaha began in 1964 with an outdoor art show, a steaming cauldron of hot apple cider, and a bold belief that the arts are for everyone.
Connie Conn organized that first one-day showcase of local art at her North Rome business. She supplied the cider, her friend John Clemmons served it, and a beloved community tradition was born. As the festival grew over the years, the Chiaha Guild of Arts and Crafts, now known as the Chiaha Arts Guild, was officially formed.
Over the next six decades, the fair became famous as Chiaha's signature event. The arts and music festival has attracted thousands of neighbors and visitors, launched countless creative careers, and generated over $500,000 a year in local economic impact for Rome and Floyd County.
We paused the festival in 2025 to focus on two key initiatives: delivering the year-round arts support and creative experiences our community has requested, and finding a new home for the festival. We are actively seeking a central, sustainable, and accessible venue that honors the unique spirit and scale of Chiaha for both artists and visitors.
