Our main emphasis is to support Georgia artists. Purchase Award participants pledge to spend a minimum of $100 to purchase a piece of artwork from their choice of exhibitors at the Fair. Purchase Awards encourage quality artists to participate each year. Chiaha derives no profits from the Purchase Award Program.
Emphasis of the Show
The Chiaha Guild is dedicated to promoting the arts and art education. With profits from the festival we fund art scholarships and community art projects through a well-well-balanced, juried show of quality crafts and fine arts, exhibited and sold at individual artist booths, combined with a traditional fall festival “flavor” provided by music and food.
Distribution of Proceeds
Gate proceeds from the Chiaha Harvest Fair are used to fund arts scholarships at Berry, Shorter and Georgia Highlands Colleges, as well as provide funding for the visual arts in K-12 in Rome and Floyd County. We support the Rome Area Council for the Arts and award grants for Alton Holman Heritage Art School in Cave Spring. We have donated to a scholarship in memory of Stranger Malone, supported Congressman Phil Gingrey’s 11th District Art Competition and the National Creative Society.
